An NFL star announced on Sunday evening that he’s planning on taking a break from football after the 2027 season to prepare for the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles.
Dallas Cowboys star Micah Parsons announced his decision on social media on Sunday evening. The Cowboys star wants to be a part of the 2028 Summer Olympics, either in flag football or perhaps another sport.
Parsons, one of the best edge rushers in the NFL, will be taking a break after the 2027 season, he declared.
“After 2027 ima take a break from football to prepare for the Olympics !” he announced.
It’s obviously tough to speculate about what will happen four years from now, but it would be pretty wild to see an NFL star in their prime taking time away from football to focus on another sport. Of course, Michael Jordan did that with the NBA following the death of his father.
Parsons is extremely confident, too, but it’s difficult to see him succeeding in a sport that isn’t football, at least at the Olympics level.
What sport would you want to see Micah Parsons competing in the Summer Olympics in Los Angeles in 2028?
