Lewis Hamilton is renowned in and outside of Formula 1 not only for being a great driver but also a great human overall. The Briton has been actively working for the rights of the LGBTQ+ community and is also a big advocate of diversity in the sport.
Apart from this, Hamilton also has an interest in increasing female involvement in the sport. Hence, after moving to Ferrari in 2025, the Briton mentioned that he would continue to pursue his dreams of diversity at Maranello.

Lewis Hamilton made great improvements within Mercedes to increase inclusivity within the team and provide more chances to people who wouldn’t dream of a career in Formula 1. Hence, as he would move to the Italian constructor next year, Hamilton discussed the situation with Ferrari President John Elkann. The seven-time world champion added that the team had a lot of work to do and also showcased the team’s excitement over the status quo.
Of course, [if] you look at Ferrari, they have a lot of work to do, so I’ve already made that a priority in speaking with John. And they’re super excited to work on it also.

Apart from this, Hamilton asserted how he was proud of the great strides that he had made within Mercedes. The seven-time world champion mentioned how the team had been improving diversity, especially since 2020. Additionally Brackley will continue to increase diversity within the team. Despite the Briton’s presence, and hence this was a great achievement.
Firstly, I’m immensely proud of the work that we’ve done within Mercedes. Since 2020, we’ve made some real great strides in improving the diversity within the team. Within HR we’ve got a diverse HR group and that will continue beyond me, which is something I’m really proud of.
Lewis Hamilton is the only driver of color within the sport and has faced racism on multiple occasions. Hence, the Briton continues to fight for more equality and diversity within the sport. The Formula 1 maestro launched ‘Mission 44‘ previously which provided young enthusiasts with the chance to pursue their dreams. Notably, the seven-time world champion has self-funded this project. Moreover, this initiative has gained traction and help from others in the sport.

The 39-year-old also introduced the ‘Hamilton Commission’ to increase black people’s participation in UK motorsport. Formula 1 has been white-male dominated since its inception and Lewis Hamilton is the only black driver ever to race in the pinnacle of motorsport. The driver continues to fight for more diversity within Formula 1 as the sport provides some positive feedback to Hamilton’s ideology.
The Briton is hence one of the greatest personalities ever to race in the sport and would be highly remembered by the fans after his departure. Regardless, the driver prepares to race for Mercedes one last time as he will switch to Ferrari in 2025. The team is looking hopeful to providing a great opportunity to the seven-time world champion in the coming season.
