Lewis Hamilton has been making his trade with Mercedes since 2013.
Fernando Alonso REVEALS how Mercedes will treat Lewis Hamilton differently in 2024
Lewis Hamilton will be seen repping the red of Ferrari from 2025 onwards. A lot has been made of it within the F1 paddock but with only two days remaining until the first Grand Prix event of this year, former two-time world champion, Fernando Alonso has taken the time to talk about it.
Fernando Alonso has compared Lewis Hamilton‘s upcoming season with Mercedes to the one he had with Renault back in 2006. The latter was also moving to another team the very next year, and keeping this in view, Alonso has claimed that Mercedes will hide things from Hamilton this year.
While shedding light on the same in detail, the Spaniard said, as reported by RaceFans:
In 2006, I started the season very okay, I think with the team and very relaxed with a very good atmosphere, and for me didn’t change much. I was not involved in those things because they kept some secrets from me, which was understandable. I think for the driver point of view doesn’t change much for the team, they try to hide a few things in the second part of the year.
The 42-year-old with his reaction has made it quite clear that in his opinion, Toto Wolff and Co. will not be completely transparent with Hamilton during the 2024 F1 season. He genuinely believes that Mercedes will hide certain specific things from the Brit during the record-breaking 24-race calendar.
Would Lewis Hamilton be able to win the 2024 title with Mercedes?
While Fernando Alonso has made it known that Mercedes will hide things from Lewis Hamilton this year, the goal of both parties is still to perform as well as possible. Hamilton has been with Mercedes since 2013 and would want to end his stint with them on an extremely high note.

The Brackley-based team has not been able to provide the 39-year-old with championship-worthy machinery since 2021. However, the upcoming season could prove to be the year when Mercedes finally gets out of its shell with the W15.
During the recently concluded testing, pretty much all the teams kept their cards close to their chest. However, everything will be made crystal clear when the cars hit the track during this week’s Bahrain Grand Prix. Lewis Hamilton will ideally want to bring the shutter down on his Mercedes career with a record-breaking eighth world championship.
