Max Verstappen Predicts Top Three for F1 Drivers’ Championship 2024
In a bold forecast for the upcoming Formula 1 season, reigning champion Max Verstappen has unveiled his predictions for the top three in the Drivers’ Championship, and notably, his Red Bull teammate Sergio Perez didn’t make the cut.
Verstappen, who dominated the 2023 season with Red Bull, securing 21 out of 22 Grand Prix victories, envisions a different landscape this year.
Despite his teammate Perez finishing second in last year’s standings, Verstappen omitted him from his top three, instead favoring Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc to join him.
In a recent Q&A session with Viaplay, Verstappen confidently placed himself at the top, followed by Hamilton and Leclerc. Notably absent from his predictions was Perez, a surprising snub considering their successful partnership last season.
“Me, then Lewis, and then Charles,” said Max Verstappen
When asked about potential race winners this season, Verstappen overlooked Perez once again, instead tipping McLaren’s Lando Norris to clinch a coveted Grand Prix victory.

As for his own performance expectations, Verstappen tempered his ambitions slightly compared to last year’s dominant campaign, predicting 12 wins out of 22 races. However, he remains optimistic about his title defense, suggesting that he could claim the championship with three races remaining, pinpointing Las Vegas as the potential venue for his coronation.
In a nod to Red Bull’s junior team, Verstappen forecasted a podium finish for them, albeit without specifying whether it would be former teammate Daniel Ricciardo or Yuki Tsunoda who would achieve the feat.
