Lewis Hamilton Was a Fashion Star at the F1 Italian Grand Prix 2023
The British racing driver continues to prove he’s a driving force in the fashion world.
If there’s one thing you can count on Lewis Hamilton to do, it’s to turn his off-track fashion into a runway show. The Mercedes driver and seven-time world champion raced at the Formula One (F1) Italian Grand Prix, and while many were completely focused on his performance, fashion lovers could not help but be entranced by his off-track ensemble.
He arrived in Monza with a more simple, subtle outfit compared to his usual eccentric pieces, opting for a black sweater vest and brown jeans. Always one keen to accessorize, he styled the ‘fit with black sunglasses, a chain necklace, a luxe watch, and multiple rings.
The style inspiration continued with his next outfit: an acid-wash, matching orange denim set that he wore as he arrived to practice the day before the race began. While a bold choice to go for, it did not fail in commanding the room and having all eyes on him — a feat that while not easy to do, is one Hamilton accomplishes often.

Never one to pull the brakes with his fashion choices, as he arrived at the qualifying session, Hamilton looked relaxed in a matching windbreaker and baggy bottoms, keeping it practical yet chic. Rounding out his fashion run is his matching light brown ensemble, consisting of a deep-V collared shirt and wide-leg trousers.
Since becoming one of the top drivers F1 racing league, Hamilton has built up quite a reputation in the fashion world. In 2018, he collaborated with Tommy Hilfiger on an exclusive collaborative collection, creating a line that captures Hamilton’s cool aesthetic and Hilfiger’s classic style.
Speaking about the collection for its third drop in 2019, he called it “a dream come true.”
“Naturally, fashion brings people together. People from different walks of life are united by clothing and their love of fashion and style,” Hamilton told L’OFFICIEL. “Look at a fashion show, for example, I am always looking at other people and wondering why they are there. My goal is to have a show for this collection either here in NYC, in Paris, or in Milan. I personally never thought I would have my own clothes. Never in a million years – it was always a dream. But to have my own clothes and really love them, it’s a dream come true.”
In an interview with Vogue, he explains what fashion means to him, stating, “For me, though, fashion is about freeing yourself—it’s about self-expression; it’s about you; it’s about slowly, over time, evolving and learning more about yourself and what you like and how you want to show up—how you want to be seen. What makes you feel great? It’s a great feeling when you put on a piece of clothing and throw your shoulders back and are just like: I feel great today. That’s what fashion does.”
To date, Hamilton has also been spotted sitting front row at numerous fashion shows, including Wales Bonner, Valentino, Versace, Dior, and most recently, the Louis Vuitton Mens Spring/Summer 2024 show that marked the beginning of Pharrell Williams’ era as the new Mens creative director.
