Sergio Perez highlighted that Lewis Hamilton’s knowledge about Mercedes could stress out the Silver Arrows once he joins Ferrari in 2025.
Lewis Hamilton has sealed his shock move to Scuderia Ferrari for 2025 and beyond. A majority of the people on the grid have complimented the seven-time world champion over this move. However, Sergio Perez highlighted some points about Hamilton’s move to Maranello after spending almost 12 years with Mercedes.

Hamilton has been part of the Silver Arrows for a long time and hence it is obvious that the driver is well-versed in the techniques of the team. Subsequently, the 39-year-old could potentially share some of Mercedes’ secrets with the Scuderia. This could allow Maranello to learn from its arch-rival and bring in better results down the season. Sergio Perez reckoned that the dynamics of this move would be ‘interesting’ to watch from the outside.
nteresting, but more than that, I think the dynamics, it's going to be interesting to watch from the outside. Additionally, Checo claimed that the information Hamilton would take to Ferrari would definitely make the crew at Brackley ‘jealous.’ Hence, Mercedes could be stressed about the knowledge the Briton would carry to Maranello next year.
Having a driver that is moving teams, we all know how jealous the teams are on sharing information, because, obviously, Lewis has been there [Mercedes] for many years, and he will be taking a lot of knowledge to another team.
Lewis Hamilton might find it difficult to fit in the Italian constructor
Hamilton raced for Brackley since 2013 and has been at the team for over a decade. Hence, moving to the Italian constructor would be a complete change of pace for the seven-time world champion. As a result, Martin Brundle shared his opinions over the entire move and how the language barrier would be one of the biggest challenges for the driver.
Additionally, Lewis Hamilton would join a completely new set of engineers in the team from 2025. This would affect the driver’s performance as he was well-versed with his crew at Brackley and, hence would have to settle with the new crew. Mercedes has banned Hamilton from poaching staff from within the team, to maintain Brackley’s performance down the seasons.
Hamilton would conclude his twelfth and ultimate year at Mercedes in 2024. Hence, the seven-time world champion wants to end the season on a high and potentially compete for the championship in the season. The team has also talked highly about the performance of the W15 challenger developed by Mercedes for the coming season.
