‘Three Billboards Outside Ebbing Missouri’ is a movie name that stays with you, but ‘F1’? Well, it is absolutely forgettable. However, it appears that Lewis Hamilton and his team did not get this memo. They recently revealed the title of their much-anticipated AppleTV project. The flick, focused on the various aspects of Formula 1, will feature a fictional team called APX GP. Thus, the first few rumors claimed its name would be ‘Apex’. But now, it is clear that the Brad Pitt-starrer will go by the moniker – ‘F1’. This has raised questions as to why the producers chose such a ‘simplistic’ name, and Hamilton has an answer for that.

Ever since its announcement last year, the ‘F1’ movie has taken over the Formula 1 town. Starring Brad Pitt as a veteran racer who gets recruited under APX GP, this movie might have the 12th highest budget in the history of Hollywood. For its authenticity, Lewis Hamilton gave his pointers to improve certain scenes as he has experienced the world of F1 firsthand. Adding to the hype for the flick, its cast appeared at the Silverstone GP last year to shoot some scenes. Thus, the fans have waited for a long time to see how this movie turns out.

But the first few details that the production house gave out, including its name, disappointed the F1 followers. At the press conference leading up to the British GP, an interviewer asked Lewis Hamilton why the title was so simplistic. Regarding this, the Mercedes racer revealed to Autosport, “The title. I mean, it’s probably… Well, what else are you going to call it? You know, I think it would distract from what the series is, so I like it.”

Thus, the Briton wishes to go against the general notion as he likes the name of his movie. In Hamilton’s view, the two-syllable name will not distract the audience from the actual point of the movie. However, the Mercedes driver did not just stop there. He divulged some more updates on his dream project that might interest the viewers. So, what did he have to say?

Lewis Hamilton confirms fans will soon get a look at ‘F1’
Exactly a year since Brad Pitt appeared at Silverstone in his APX GP suit, the release date and the title of his project has come out. The movie also has Joseph Krasinski of Top Gun: Maverick fame as its director, while Hamilton and Pitt are two of its producers. With these high-profile names being a part of the film, fans have demanded its trailer be released soon. And answering to them, Lewis Hamilton has dished out all the details he knows. He said, “There’s not really anything else I can add that I haven’t already said.”

However, Lewis followed that up with his own take on the film’s progress, “I think Joe and Jerry and the whole crew are so grateful to be here and have been incredibly respectful of this space and have been very, very thoughtful. You know, the trailer is coming out soon. So I’m looking forward to people seeing that.” While the 39-year-old did not give out the exact date for the trailer release, the new ‘F1’ poster has revealed the movie will be available to viewers across all theatres on June 27, 2025.

Despite all the new details coming to light, the fans had some high expectations which evidently have not been met. But that doesn’t mean the movie might not do well in the market. Lewis Hamilton once proclaimed it would be the ‘best F1 movie’ ever. Also, if the success of the Netflix docuseries ‘Drive to Survive‘ is anything to go by, ‘F1’ will script history with its viewership. Do you agree that the first-ever feature film that is fully focused on the world of F1 will win the hearts of the people? Let us know in the comments below.
