What was disclosed by Jason Kelce on his podcast on his retirement quandary?

Kelce receives advice from former players

hiladelphia Eagles star Jason Kelce is keeping himself in top shape as he mulls over the possibility of retirement.

The 36-year-old Super Bowl champion recently appeared on the “SuperFly” podcast hosted by actors David Spade and Dana Carvey,

where he opened up about his uncertain future in the NFL.

Despite receiving offers and interviews from TV networks, Kelce confessed: “I don’t know. I’m trying to figure it out right now. Right now. Exploring different opportunities if I end up retiring. Still working out and staying in shape if I end up playing again.”

Kelce also shared insights into the advice he has been receiving from former players as he contemplates his next move. He mentioned that ex-Eagles teammates Chris Long and Beau Allen joined him on his podcast “New Heights” and emphasized that retirement can trigger a “huge existential crisis.” Long expressed the sentiment of missing the camaraderie of the locker room, highlighting the unique mindset of athletes and the significant life changes that come with retirement.

Additionally, NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal offered Kelce valuable advice, urging him to prioritize his family as he weighs his NFL future. O’Neal candidly revealed his own regrets: “I lost my whole family. I’m in a 100,000-square-foot house by myself.” This heartfelt advice from someone with O’Neal’s stature surely resonated with Kelce as he navigates this pivotal career crossroads.

There’s no chance Kelce returns to gridiron

Despite the uncertainty surrounding Kelce’s decision, his teammate and Eagles left tackle Jordan Mailata is convinced that Kelce has played his final snap. Mailata confidently stated during Super Bowl week, “There’s no shot,” when asked about the possibility of Kelce returning to the field.

Kelce’s openness about his contemplation of retirement and the insights he has gained from fellow athletes and legends like O’Neal provide a glimpse into the complex emotions and considerations that come with such a significant career decision. As Kelce continues to deliberate his future, it’s evident that he is taking the time to carefully weigh his options and seek guidance from those who have walked a similar path.

In the midst of this uncertainty, one thing remains clear: Jason Kelce is dedicated to maintaining his physical readiness, keeping the door open for a potential return to the NFL while he navigates this defining moment in his career.
